Dream Cartoon
for violin, cello and harpsichord (2009; 7 min.)
Dream Cartoon was composed for Oryx, an Amsterdam-based trio. The group was co-founded by Annelie de Man, a prominent harpsichordist and advocate for contemporary music who in the course of our previous collaborations had also become a dear friend. Annelie’s tragic passing in 2010 left many of her projects unfinished, including the premiere of Dream Cartoon. The title reflects the lighthearted and surreal character of the music.
