Seis Cosechas was composed for the Mexico City-based Trio Neos, who premiered it in 2006 during the Foro Internacional de Música Contemporánea “Manuel Enríquez.” The title translates as “Six Harvests,” which is both a metaphor for creative work and a reference to the central role that agriculture has played in Mexico for millennia. Tilling the earth and making art are ways in which human beings have always nourished each other.
